Virtually identical approval reviews inside synonymous points inside their presidencies don’t create for equal reporting, because NPR demonstrates.

Here’s NPR inside October of 2005 with Bush at a 38 % approval rating. Headline: “Poll: Bush’s Ratings Drop about Nearly All Fronts”:

President Bush’s approval reviews are inside a steep decline, according to a unique poll by the Pew Research Center. The study found which just 38 % of Americans think the president is doing a superior job, down from 50 % inside January. For the very first time inside his presidency, the numbers show many individuals think Bush is judged because an unsuccessful president.

Fast forward the tape to the week. Gallup has President Obama at a 39 percent approval (NPR reports the amount is “around 40 percent,” a rounding-up which they virtually absolutely wouldn’t have watched fit to provide Bush). Here’s NPR’s headline: “Why Obama Shouldn’t Worry Regarding His Lousy Poll Numbers”:

President Obama’s poll numbers have hit only regarding the lowest point of his presidency.

They began sinking following the Obamacare website’s miserable first last month. Then, just about 40 % of Americans think Obama is doing a wise job. More than half disapprove of his performance. (A year ago, the numbers were the opposite.)

It appears apparent to state a significant approval rating assists a president, whilst a low approval rating hurts him. But here are five factors Obama’s numbers may not be because troublesome because they sound.

Optimism: It’s what’s for dinner at NPR (whenever a Democrat is within office).
