TEXAS - Second-graders at Godley Elementary School in Texas have something to be excited about. Teacher Brandy Young has established a brand new "No Homework" policy for the school year. The second-grade teacher at the school sent out a letter explaining the policy.
“There will be no formally assigned homework this year. Rather, I ask you spend your evenings doing things that are proven to correlate with student success. Eat dinner as a family, read together, play outside, and get your child to bed early.”
A happy parent posted a photo of the letter on Facebook page, and it went viral. The "No Homework" policy letter has been share over 67,000 times in the last week. The parent said her 7-year-old daughter was happy saying: "Brooke is loving her new teacher already!"
