Recent Georgia lottery winner killed in home invasion

GEORGIA - A forklift operator who recently won a nearly half-million dollar Georgia lottery jackpot was shot and killed Thursday night during a home invasion robbery according to WALB and police.

Law enforcement officials say 20-year-old Craigory Burch, Jr. died from gunshot wounds at a home on Stubbs Avenue. Craigory Burch had won a $434,272 Fantasy 5 Lottery jackpot in November 2015.

Georgia is considering a controversial law that would allow lottery winners to remain anonymous if they give 25 percent of their winnings to the Lottery for Education Account and other tax-exempt organizations.
