TEXAS - Police shot and killed an armed robbery suspect who took an employee hostage in Irving, TX Friday afternoon.
Two police officers responded to a robbery around 2 p.m. at the Cash Store near Esters Road and Highway 183 in the 4100 block of W. Airport Freeway.
After robbing the cash store the suspect took a female employee hostage and threatened to shoot her if police tried to stop him.
“The suspect rounded the corner and put the hostage into a car. At that moment, realizing the hostage’s life was in danger, the officers opened fire – striking and killing the suspect,” according to Irving police spokesman James McClellan.
