CALIFORNIA - Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton walked out of his postgame interview after losing Super Bowl 50. After much public speculation we now know the real reason.
According to WGN Several people who were at the press conference said Newton was "visibly upset" by comments made by Broncos cornerback Chris Harris, Jr. who was being interviewed next to Newton. (see tweet below). Harris could be heard on video in the background of Cam Newton's interview saying:
“That was the game plan. Load the box, force ya’ll to throw the ball. Can you throw the football? That was the game plan. Load the box, one-on-one outside. They got a couple big plays, but I feel like me, [Aqib] Talib and [Bradley] Roby, we were able to come back and make more plays to shut them down.”
Chris Harris to me after realizing later his voice was audible during Cam’s presser: “Damn that’s the NFL’s fault for putting us that close"— Josina Anderson (@JosinaAnderson) February 8, 2016
