VIDEO: 1,400 Carrier workers in Indiana are devastated when the company tells them the factory is moving to Mexico

INDIANA - An Indianapolis HVAC manufacturing facility is moving operations to Mexico. Carrier will be moving operations to Monterrey, Mexico in 2017. Cell phone video (watch below) of the announcement was posted to facebook. Workers in the video are shocked and visibly angry. 

 

Chris Nelson, president of HVAC Systems and Services North American released the following statement:

"This move is intended to address the challenges we continue to face in a rapidly changing HVAC industry, with the continued migration of the HVAC industry to Mexico, including our suppliers and competitors, and ongoing cost and pricing pressures driven, in part, by new regulatory requirements."
