TEXAS - 79-year-old Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died in his sleep last night. Justice Scalia was reportedly quail hunting at Cibolo Creek Ranch near Marfa, Texas.
Appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1986, Justice Scalia was the longest-serving current Justice on the Supreme Court.
According to an unconfirmed report, Scalia arrived at Cibolo Creek Ranch on Friday for a private party with around 40 people in attendance. When it was noticed Justice Scalia missed breakfast an employee of the ranch went to his room and found a body.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a statement Saturday afternoon, calling Scalia a man of God, a patriot and an "unwavering defender of the written Constitution."
