Democratic Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois has removed the controversial Facebook post which sparked a firestorm last week following he accused a then unnamed Republican of getting mentioned ‘I cannot even stand to consider you’ to the President throughout a shutdown dialogue meeting. That claim was based about second-hand info, that turned out to be erroneous.
Republicans instantly denied the referenced incident, as did the White House. It was later blamed about a miscommunication stemming from a White Home reading of which meeting to Senate Democrats. Even further clarification came to light whenever more details were revealed regarding how the erroneous statement produced the rounds to begin with.
Durbin later added a follow-up Facebook post addressing the “miscommunication.” However he’d left the initial comment about his Facebook page – till late past.
That initial Facebook post is today gone. The Associated Press (through MyFOXChicago.com) reported about Durbin’s reasoning for not removing the post earlier.
On Monday, Durbin mentioned there was clearly not any misunderstanding, at minimum not about his element.
