Who Took Philadelphia's Flags?

PENNSYLVANIA - A shocking investigation from The Daily Caller suggests that Democratic Party officials may have taken U.S. flags from the city of Philadelphia for use on the DNC stage. Democrats received criticism on day #1 of the Democratic National Convention after people noticed flags were missing from the stage.

Eyebrows were raised when 6 flags went missing at City Hall while at the same time 6 flags appeared on stage at the Democratic National Convention. After receiving a tip from an unnamed city official TheDC spoke to Lauren Hitt, communications director for the City of Philadelphia. Hitt said the flags were removed for safety reasons:

“We took them down for safety reasons. Every time we needed to lower them to half-staff, we needed to get a roofer down here who would then have to use 2 ladders to get to where the flags were. Given the thunderstorms, expected flash floods and extreme heat we’ve experienced this week, we didn’t feel it was safe,”

TheDC said they were able to confirm with another city official that United States flags do fly atop Philadelphia's City Hall during work hours and are still waiting to get an official comment to find out where the missing flags are.
