FLORIDA - A security guard in Tampa fired shots at two men he detained early Sunday after confronting them over urinating in a parking garage. 31 year-old Everoy R. Farqharson used his security golf cart to block the victims vehicle. Kevin L. Whitcher and Christopher J. Pino were trying to leave. Farqharson then drew his gun and fired as the men ran away from the garage.
According to police no one was injured. Police say the security guard tampered with evidence by picking up the cell phone used to record the incident and the spent shell casings. Farqharson put casing in his pocket.
A third female victim, Megan Zetterburg, 28, tried driving the car out of the garage after the shooting but Farqharson reached into the car and removed the key from the ignition. Farqharson is an employee of private security firm Iron Eagle Security. The company is responsible for protecting parking garages in Tampa.
Police officers arrested Everoy R. Farqharson on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, battery, tampering with evidence and burglary. Farqharson has been booked into the Hillsborough County Jail with no set bail.
