FLORIDA - Last night former Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio secured the GOP nomination for re-election to the United States Senate. As we reported in March, Rubio had vowed to finish out his Senate term and not run for governor or re-election to the Senate. Rubio told reporters he would be a 'private citizen' in January.
“I’m not interested in being vice president, I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way. I’m not going to be vice president. I’m not running for governor of Florida. I’m going to finish out my term in the Senate over the next 10 months….And then I’ll be a private citizen.” - Marco Rubio
